Thank you for coming to read about me and my journey creating my small business, so here goes......

How it all began.....

I'm a mum of two and children and my kids are my absolute world and inspire me daily to become the best version of myself. I then, in turn, can help them to become the best version of themselves. I am a level 3 BSL (British Sign Language) signer and previously supported the communication and education of deaf children in school. I have actually now, taken the leap to focus on my business full time (scary but exciting). Luckily I still sign daily as my son is deaf🦻🏿.

I have always had a passion for oils, candles, wax melts, room sprays......well basically anything that smells nice! There's nothing like walking into a room that has a beautiful scent that just makes you want to take a deep breath and inhale.

I have always been a scent addict, but didn't think about what they were made of, the impact on the environment and my carbon footprint..... just as long as they smelt nice and looked pretty! Happy to say, I'm so much wiser now.

I spent so much money on candles (some worth it, some not) but quickly noticed the dreaded black soot they produced and I was SICK of cleaning it! I specifically remember one day, cleaning that awful sooty residue and thinking to myself, if this is what I'm cleaning from the underside of my shelf and walls, what am I breathing in!!

My daughter had a candle making kit and she knew how much I loved candles so she suggested I give it a try. I was a little apprehensive at first but did a lot of research, watched a thousand YouTube videos and learnt a lot about different types of wax. "Give it a try," she said.......well......I did.....then BOOM....after lots of testing (some fails and some successful) Nature's Scent ® was born. I wanted to burn candles and melts that still gave me that gorgeous scent but minus the soot and with longevity.

My new found love for creating luxury wax melts & candles, is not only something I really enjoy but it's also strangely therapeutic and calming. It's been an interesting journey so far, lots of trial and error, highs and lows but I've not looked back and wouldn't change any path I've taken along the way. I'm a strong believer that we are in charge of our dreams so it's up to us to make them come true. Dream big.....difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.

The environment is something I'm very mindful of and I believe it's important that we all try to do our bit. All of my products are made with a Coconut 🥥 & Rapeseed blend which is a more environmentally friendly alternative to paraffin, soy and other waxes produced through intensive farming techniques. This is partly because coconut is a sustainable high-yield crop giving it high marks on the eco-friendly scale. Also, making sure all of my packaging is recyclable and biodegradable is a MUST (read more about this on my FAQ page).

I take pride in what I do and want to offer you cleaner burning products without compromising the scent. Everything is made by hand (no industrial machines here) but this enables me to ensure that everything is made to the highest quality, poured (by me), tested (by me) and checked (by me). Nothing leaves my little wax haven unless I'm 100% happy with what I've produced!
